Curate Art & Design Gallery in Sorrento is thrilled and humbled to have Mornington Peninsula based artist Jim Stagg as part of our family of wonderful creatives.

"My paintings are highly detailed and time-consuming, often taking months to complete....so I am not prolific, although I paint constantly."

Jim was born in England in 1954 and studied at Chelsea School of Art in London.

Becoming a professional artist in 1972, he initially worked as a photorealist and pop artist. However, influenced by the surrealism of Dali and Magritte, his style gradually evolved into a fusion of fantasy and realism.

Jim moved from London to Australia in 1981 and currently resides in Rye on the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria.
